Similar to #1403 and #1404, the Geared Up Wall can be used to teach literacy, numeracy and storytelling. Each theme can be built on the floor or the wall and children can follow the designs, or engage in open play.
With the addition of gears, tracks and rods, children will be able to make simple, yet highly functional mechanisms on the wall or floor. By following the instructions or open play, children will begin to acquire simple physical principles and learn about mechanical applications. Discover how gears change direction of force, transmit power and what gear trains can do. The manual provides six creative wall designs encouraging children to make each model first, and then install it on the Jumbo Grid Wall. This gives different groups of children the chance to participate in the fun of collaborative DIY, while stimulating their creativity and imagination.
